While everyone wants a perfectly aligned smile, few people are born with that privilege. While traditional metal braces are a tried-and-proven way to correct alignment issues, many image-conscious people are hesitant about committing to wearing these irremovable and conspicuous devices for several years. Luckily, Invisalign has allowed many people, some of them very famous, to straighten their teeth with virtually invisible clear aligners. Here are a few celebrities who have had Invisalign and what the treatment may be able to do for you.

Khloe Kardashian

While she is one of those “famous for being famous” celebrities, there’s no doubting that she has an impressive set of pearly whites. Her beautiful alignment is no coincidence, as she has received Invisalign to straighten out her teeth. After treatment, she was able to correct her slightly crooked teeth without letting the press know. She now enjoys a beautiful smile that is flattering even in the most awkward of selfies.

Zac Efron

If you look at photos of Zac Efron in his younger years, you may notice that he has a few gaps in his smile. Sometime between being a tween heartthrob and becoming a muscled stud, he turned to Invisalign to make his grin more camera-ready. Now, his beautifully straightened smile is complimented perfectly by his six-pack abs.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign uses a sequence of customized clear plastic aligners to push teeth into better alignment. The process begins with the patient having their teeth scanned by a special device, and the data gathered then is used to create aligners that will fit their teeth while exerting pressure to shift them into better positions. The patient must wear each set of aligners for two weeks before switching to the next set in the sequence. To keep the treatment going smoothly, aligners must be worn for at least twenty hours every day while being removed for hygiene and meals.

Invisalign is a great way for many people to address alignment issues like open bites or overbites. Consulting with your dentist can determine if Invisalign can be a suitable treatment for you.
